Fountain Gallery, representing artists with mental illness, today announced the upcoming opening of its Holiday Shop. From November 23 through December 30, 2012, the Gallery will be transformed from an exhibition space into a festive retail emporium featuring art, handcrafted gifts, and alpaca goods - priced under $200. Fountain Gallery is located at 702 Ninth Avenue at 48th Street in Manhattan. Holiday Shop will be open for business during customary Gallery hours: Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m.–7 p.m.; Sunday 1–5 p.m.

Among the offerings in the Holiday Shop collection are fine art, jewelry, cards, and more, made by Fountain Gallery artists and by members of the wider community of the Gallery's parent organization, Fountain House. Also in the mix are cozy goods fashioned from the fleece of the alpacas of Fountain House's High Point Farm in Montague, NJ. Alpaca items, prized for their warmth, beauty and durability, have been perennial favorites of the Gallery's previous holiday sales. This season, shoppers may choose from a select group including alpaca hats, scarves, gloves, socks, and blankets.

This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, and by generous support from The Jarvis & Constance Doctorow Family Foundation and The Renate, Hans and Maria Hofmann Trust.
