The Folk Music Society of New York, Inc. in association with the New York Pinewoods Folk Music Club have announced an Ice Cream Social and Song Swap/Jam tonight, July 20, 2012, 7:30 PM at OSA Hall, 220 E. 23rd St, Suite 707 (between 2nd & 3rd Avenues), New York, 10010.
Ice cream and music, what could be better? The Folk Music Society of New York (AKA New York Pinewoods Folk Music Club) will bring the ice cream and all the fixings. Bring your appetite for frozen delights and melodious sounds for a DIY (Do It Yourself) song swap hosted by Frank Woerner, leader of our Brooklyn Open Sings. Bring instruments, voices, kids, friends and songs.
The organizers promise interesting people, friendly conversation and lively tunes. A separate room is available for an instrumental jam. Prepare a song or tune to lead, sing/play along, tap your feet, or relax and listen. Harmonies and chorus songs appreciated. No pressure, no obligations other than sharing the fun.
Join us tonight, July 20, at 7:30 pm at OSA Hall, 220 E. 23rd Street, suite 707, between 2nd and 3rd Avenues. General Admission is $10; children under 12 are $5. Tickets are available at the door. Reservations are not required but are requested, so we are sure to have enough ice cream. E-mail DW@folkmusicny.org or call 718-672-6399.
The Folk Music Society of New York, Inc. hosts concerts for music lovers who can relax and listen, sing along on the chorus, or dance in the aisles to the best of traditional music. For more information go online to www.folkmusicny.org.
