On Friday, May 11, at 7:30 PM, the Folk Music Society of New York presents the folk group Soldier's Fancy at Hostelling International, 891 Amsterdam Ave., at 103rd Street. Admission: general public $15, members $12.

Soldier's Fancy, a high energy group comprised of Marie Mularczyk, Doreen D'Amico, Jane Przbysz, and Marya Zimmet, are back together for the first time in many years. This dynamic group of four women was a fixture of the New York Folk Scene for many years and were featured performers in the first Annual Village Voice Festival of Street Entertainer. Soldier's Fancy sings songs old and new in tightly woven harmonies, à capella or accompanied by guitar, mandolin, banjo, dulcimer, recorder, and spoons. Come hear them amplify the voices and perspectives of women past and present through song.

The concert will be held at Hostelling International, 891 Amsterdam Ave., at 103rd St., Manhattan 10025, on Friday, May 11, 7:30 pm. Contribution: general public $15, members $12. Free to HI members. This is a benefit for the Folk Music Society of New York. Tickets available at the door or online at: https://soldiersfancy.eventbrite.com
