Abingdon Theatre Company will present the world premiere of James Armstrong's Foggy Bottom, with previews to begin on September 2nd for a September 10th opening.
"A philandering mid-level State Department bureaucrat, pretending to be the Assistant Secretary of State promises one green card to three illegal aliens, all beautiful young women. When the three women show up at his office on the same night to cash in on his promise, farcical hilarity ensues…and then a fourth woman arrives, with an entirely different plan in store for him," according to press notes on the play, which will be directed by Rob Urbanati.
The cast will include Jeremy Beiler, Denise Bessette, Dan Cordle, Susanna Guzmán, Jo Mei, Maja Wampuszyc, and Richard Zekaria.
The show will feature sets by Gabriel Hainer Evansohn, costumes by Susan Scherer, lights by Carl Faber, and sound by Graham Johnson.
Armstrong is also the author of the one-act play
Searching for St. Anthony which was sponsored by Abingdon for the 2003 Samuel French Off-Off-Broadway Festival. Attic Ensemble in Jersey City produced his full-length play
The Four Doctors Huxley.
Performances are Tuesday–Saturday nights at 7:30 PM, Saturday matinees at 2:00 PM, and Sunday matinees at 3:00 PM.
