Flyer, The Musical, a winner of the NY ASCAP/Disney Musical Theatre Workshop Award and a Finalist in the Chicago STAGES competition, is one of four shows selected for "Stripped", Oklahoma City University's students' presentation of new musicals.

The program will present Flyer in a "stripped" manner – no costumes, sets or props – "just actors, a piano and the show." After receiving numerous submissions from composers in the US, Canada and England, the OCU judging committee selected four shows to be represented by four songs and sections of each show's libretto.

Flyer, The Musical features book, music and lyrics by Dan Tramon and Diana Belkowski with additional book by BroadwayWorld radio host Donald Feltham. "A sweeping and dramatic look into the lives of the Wright Brothers family, it was previously represented in concert as part of North Carolina's NASA/Smithsonian 'Festival of Flight,' in honor of the 2003 Anniversary of Flight," according to press notes.

Joining Flyer are: The Gift, by Andrew Gerle and Maryrose Wood; Plane Crazy by Suzy Conn; I Married Wyatt Earp, book by Sheilah Rae and Thomas Edward West, lyrics by Sheilah Rae, and music by Michelle Bourman.

The concert-style performance (with narration between the songs) will take place on Sunday, April 23rd at 7 pm, featuring directors and students from OCU's Bass School of Music. The New Musicals Project coincides with the opening of the new $38 million Bass School of Music facility, which will provide sate-of-the-art learning opportunities for OCU students.
