Flushing Town Hall is delighted to present the Brubeck Brothers Quartet on Friday, December 8. The Quartet's creativity, technique and improvisation can be heard in their uncompromising music, which reflects their dedication to the melody, rhythm, culture and spontaneous spirit of jazz.

This versatile group's style is rooted in "straight-ahead" jazz, but their concerts reveal an inherent ability to explore and naturally integrate different genres, with performances that reflect the influence of funk, blues, and world music.

The Brubeck Brothers Quartet features two members of one of America's most accomplished musical families, Dan Brubeck on drums and Chris Brubeck on bass and trombone. The Brubeck Brothers have been performing and recording since the early 1970s. Their "honorary brothers," guitarist Mike DeMicco and pianist Chuck Lamb, complete this dynamic quartet. The Quartet has performed at concert series, colleges, and jazz festivals across North America and Europe, including the Newport, Detroit, Ravinia, Las Vegas, Playboy, Montreal and Monterey Jazz Festivals.

These versatile musicians have also played with orchestras and chamber groups from all over the world, including the Utah Symphony, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Russian National Symphony Orchestra.

The Brubeck Brothers Quartet's Koch recordings, Intuition and Classified, spent several months in the top ten radio charts while earning positive reviews from JazzTimes, Downbeat, and the Boston Globe. Their 2013 CD, LifeTimes, was one of the Jazz Radio Airplay Top Ten CDs of that year. All About Jazz says the Brubeck Brothers Quartet music "is uniformly excellent in its composition, execution, and recording quality. [The Brubeck Brothers Quartet] attains that rarefied level where the music is both relaxed and expressive, and their joy in its creation is contagious. There's nothing out there that comes close to their unique blend of inventiveness."The Brubeck Brothers Quartet show is Friday, December 8 at 8 PM. Tickets are $16/$10 for members and students.
