The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC), the largest multi-arts festival in North America, will present the 10th Anniversary Festival from August 11 - 27, 2006. This year, the festival will be the largest ever, presenting programming by 216 of the world's best emerging theatre troupes and dance companies. Shows represent 11 countries (including Poland, Australia, Trinidad and Tobago, Spain, France, Japan and Ireland) and 20 US States (including Kansas, Kentucky, Ohio, Texas, Florida, Minnesota, New Jersey and Wisconsin).
Tickets went on sale to the public at 12:01 am Friday, July 28 and continue to sell briskly. Several productions have sold out individual performances including
Flying on The Wing (which has sold out 5 of its 7 scheduled performances),
Open House and
Broken Hands. Other current sales leaders include
Danny Boy, In Transit, Rainy Days and Mondays, Walmartopia, Air Guitar, Hermanas and
A Time To Be Born.Performances cover a wide range of disciplines including theater,
dance, performance art, children's theater, spoken word, puppetry, and
multimedia. FringeNYC is a production of The Present Company, under the
leadership of Producing Artistic Director Elena K. Holy. A complete
