First Look: Andrew Rannells to Play Himself on THE SIMPSONS, 4/10

Andrew Rannells announced on Twitter today that he will be playing himself in this Sunday's episode of THE SIMPSONS on FOX! Check out the post below:

The episode airs 8 PM ET on the FOX/ The official description is as follows: After getting into an argument, Marge takes Lisa on a touristy trip to Capital City, where, after attending a musical, they meet the show's star, Andrew Rannells (guest-voicing as himself), who reminds Lisa how lucky she is to have such a great mom," according to press notes. "Meanwhile, Bart is frustrated that everyone expects his pranks, so he teams up with Maggie to trick people."

The voice cast includes Dan Castellaneta as Homer Simpson; Julie Kavner as Marge Simpson; Nancy Cartwright as Bart Simpson and Nelson; Yeardley Smith as Lisa Simpson; Hank Azaria as Moe; Harry Shearer as Skinner; Tress MacNeille as Dolph; and Pamela Hayden as Milhouse.

Rannells was nominated for a Tony Award for his breakout role as Elder Price in Broadway's smash hit musical The BOOK OF MORMON, created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. His other Broadway credits include playing King George in HAMILTON, Hedwig in HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, Bob Gaudio in JERSEY BOYS, and Link Larkin in HAIRSPRAY. It was recently announced that he will star in the FALSETTOS Broadway Revival, beginning preview this September.

The actor can currently be seen in HBO's hit series "Girls" from producers Lena Dunham and Judd Apatow which is currently in its 5th season. On the big screen, Rannells starred in The Intern alongside Robert DeNiro and Anne Hathaway and Bachelorette alongside Kirsten Dunst, Rebel Wilson and Lizzy Caplan. He will also be seen in Comedy Central's "Another Period" and the upcoming film, Why Him? starring Bryan Cranston and James Franco.
