Tony Award-winner Katie Finneran and Spring Awakening's Lea Michele will lead the cast of Hot and Sweet, which will play the New York Musical Theatre Festival from Sept. 21st through September 30th at the Theatre at St. Clement's (423 West 46th Street).
The show, which features music, lyrics and book by 14-time ASCAP-winner Barbara Schottenfeld, is set in 1945 as "the men are overseas. Who is going to keep Americans dancing
back home? The Honeytones, the
Chicagoan all-girl swing band, who will
risk everything in order to play!
Hot and Sweet interweaves the personal stories of these pioneering musicians—their
dreams, their loves, their struggles, and their bittersweet
triumphs—through an exhilarating jazz score," according to NYMF notes.
Directed by Fran Soeder, the show will feature Finneran (
Pig Farm, Noises Off) as Adele and Lea Michele (
Spring Awakening, Fiddler on the Roof, Les Miserables) as Naleen, as well as Rebeca Eichenberger as Blossom Lee, Bill Parry as Lou, Elizabeth Inghram as Lana, Andy Sandberg as Jimmy, Jay Montgomery as Gino,

The show will also feature music supervision by Paul Bogaev, orchestrations by Jim Abbott and Mike
Morris, costumes by Kay Grunder, lighting by Matthew F.
