More than a dozen Broadway and Cabaret Stars will be shaking the rafters in the 5th Annual Broadway Unplugged concert at Town Hall on Monday night, November 17th. Aaron Lazar, late of Tale of Two Cities will be joining a stellar cast that already boasts Broadway's Mary Poppins, Ashley Brown, as well as Marc Kudisch, Jeff McCarthy, Julia Murney, Matt Cavenaugh, Cheryl Freeman,
Christiane Noll, William Michals, Lorinda Lisitza, Chuck Cooper, Erin Denman, Bill Daugherty, and Ron Bohmer.
The concert's producer, writer and host, Scott Siegel, promises a special night. "I'm thrilled with the cast that I've assembled; every one of them can sing like nobody's business," said Siegel "In addition," he added, "every year I always try to do something a little bit different. This year is no exception. It's gonna be fun!"
Ticket prices have not changed since Broadway Unplugged began five years ago. They still range from $25 to $50 and $75. Ironically, though, Marc Kudisch, who has appeared in all of the Broadway Unplugged concerts, insists that the $25 seats are the best seats in the house for hearing everyone sing unplugged. He's heard no complaints from people who have taken his advice.
Please note that the previously announced Marilyn Maye discovered that she had a scheduling conflict and will not be appearing after all. We hope to have her back at Town Hall on January 26th for the 2009 Nightlife Awards.
Tickets for Broadway Unplugged are available at The Town Hall Box Office at 123 West 43rd Street (noon to 6 PM every day except Sunday) and through TicketMaster: 212-307-4100 and TicketMaster.com.
Broadway Unplugged is sponsored, in part, by The Edythe Kenner Foundation, Jill & Irwin Cohen, Trattoria Dopo Teatro, Thoroughbred Records, Peter and Barbara Leavy, Edith & Ervin Drake,
