Festival passes for the 2nd annual New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF), running September 12th to October 2nd, 2005 will be available for purchase by the general public on Monday, August 8th.

This year's Festival will include such musicals as Feeling Electric by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, directed by Peter Askin (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), Reluctant Pilgrim, a new musical revue featuring the songs of Stephen Schwartz, and The Big Time with a book by Douglas Carter Beane (As Bees in Honey Drown, To Wong Foo…), music and lyrics by Douglas J. Cohen (No Way to Treat a Lady, The Opposite of Sex), and starring Tony award-winner Debbie Gravitte (Jerome Robbins' Broadway).

"Obviously we are very happy with the productions contained in The Next Link portion of our Festival (Tom Jones, The Mistress Cycle, The Shaggs: Philosophy of the World, Plane Crazy, etc.) and our invited programs (Nerds://A Musical Software Satire, People Like Us, Richard Cory, etc.) but we are awe-struck over the Broadway talent that has affixed themselves to NYMF 2005," stated Isaac Robert Hurwitz, Director of Programming for the Festival. Broadway performers in this year's Festival include John Cariani (Wild Women of Planet Wongo), Mary Bond Davis (The Mistress Cycle) and Karen Mason (You Might As Well Live).

Dedicated to discovering new work and new artists, The New York Musical Theatre Festival celebrates the diversity, creativity, and future of musical theatre.
