Fellowship for Performing Arts announced today a third production as part of the 2016/2017 season. In addition to the return of the acclaimed play and nationwide hit C.S. Lewis' THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS starring FPA Founder and Artistic Director Max McLean, which begins performances tonight; and a new production of FPA's first wholly original play, MARTIN LUTHER ON TRIAL, both at The Pearl Theatre (555 West 42nd Street), Fellowship for Performing Arts will also present C.S. Lewis ONSTAGE: THE MOST RELUCTANT CONVERT at The Acorn Theatre @ Theatre Row (410 W. 42ndStreet) beginning Friday, February 10, 2017. Tickets for C.S. Lewis ONSTAGE: THE MOST RELUCTANT CONVERT will go on sale Tuesday, November 29.

THE MOST RELUCTANT CONVERT brings to life one of the most engaging personalities of our age and takes audiences on Lewis' fascinating theatrical journey from atheism to Christianity. Adapted exclusively from Lewis' writings, Max McLean inhabits Lewis from the death of his mother, his estranged relationship with his father and the experiences that led him from vigorous debunker to one of the most vibrant and influential Christian intellectuals of the 20th Century.

THE MOST RELUCTANT CONVERT features scenic design by Kelly James Tighe, costume design by Michael Bevins, lighting design by Geoffrey D. Fishburn, original music and sound design by John Gromada, and voice coaching by Claudia Hill.

Tickets for THE MOST RELUCTANT CONVERT will go on sale Tuesday, November 29 at www.FPAtheatre.com or by calling 212-239-6200. Tickets are $65, and the performance schedule is as follows: Wednesdays at 7pm, Thursdays at 7pm, Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 4pm and 8pm, and Sundays at 3pm.

FPA's season will also include C.S. Lewis' THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS, based on the novel by C.S. Lewis and adapted for the stage by Jeffrey Fiske and McLean. A masterpiece of satire, Lewis' classic novel has entertained and enlightened readers worldwide with its sly and ironic portrayal of human foibles from the vantage point of Screwtape, a highly placed tempter in Lucifer's service.

Set in an eerily stylish office in Hell, Screwtape schemes meticulously with the novice demon nephew, Wormwood, who has been put in charge of securing the damnation of an ordinary young man on earth. Wildly comic, deadly serious and strikingly original this stage adaptation brings its morally inverted universe back to New York in this deliciously devilish production.

C.S. Lewis' THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS returns to New York tonight for a limited run through Sunday, November 27, 2016.

FPA will present MARTIN LUTHER ON TRIAL, written by Chris Cragin-Day and McLean, and directed by Michael Parva. In this new play MARTIN LUTHER ON TRIAL, which appeared in FPA's season last winter as a workshop production, Luther's beloved wife Katie defends him and The Devil prosecutes as witnesses including Adolf Hitler, Sigmund Freud, Rabbi Josel, St. Paul, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Pope Francis take the stand. Even as 2017 marks 500 years since Luther ignited the Protestant Revolt against Rome, he continues to spark intense debate. You be the judge in this witty, provocative exploration of one of history's most explosive personalities and the religious and political controversies he unleashed. MARTIN LUTHER ON TRIAL begins performances on December 2, 2016, and runs through January 29, 2017.
