Feinstein and Jackson Reunite for THE POWER OF TWO at Carnegie Hall, 10/29

On Friday, October 29 at 8:00 p.m., Carnegie Hall presents a dynamic evening of classic American song featuring a duo performance by five-time Grammy Award-nominated singer, pianist, and renowned interpreter of the Great American Songbook Michael Feinstein and award-winning singer, stage, and screen actor Cheyenne Jackson. The performance-entitled The Power of Two after their 2009 album of the same name-will feature the duo performing pop songs, classic standards, and numbers from Broadway shows like Kiss Me Kate, City of Angels, and The King and I. Their work together has been called "passionate, impeccably harmonized, and groundbreaking" by The New York Times, and "provocative entertainment" by The New York Observer. Mr. Feinstein and Mr. Jackson are joined by Musical Director and pianist John Oddo and a swinging 17-piece band for this performance in Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage.

Mr. Feinstein returns to Carnegie Hall in the spring to host his annual three-part series, Standard Time with Michael Feinstein with performances taking place on Wednesday, February 23, Tuesday, March 22, and Thursday, April 21 in Zankel Hall.

Michael Feinstein is considered one of the premier interpreters of American standards, and his 150-plus shows a year regularly include performances at Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, the White House, and Buckingham Palace. Mr. Feinstein is nationally recognized for his commitment to celebrating American popular song and preserving its legacy for the next generation. He currently serves on the Library of Congress's National Recording Preservation Board, ensuring the survival of America's sound recording heritage.

Mr. Feinstein's recent projects include the 2009 Concord Records release of The Sinatra Project, and the PBS series American Songbook. He is currently producing an upcoming feature film about iconic composer George Gershwin that was optioned by Dreamworks. Mr. Feinstein will also serve as Artistic Director of the Palladium Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana, scheduled to open in January 2011, and recently took over as director of the Jazz & Popular Song Series at New York's Jazz at Lincoln Center. In addition, Mr. Feinstein has written the score for two new stage musicals, The Day They Saved Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and The Gold Room, and is working on an MGM project to turn The Thomas Crown Affair into a Broadway musical. Through live performances, recordings, film and television appearances, and his songwriting-in collaboration with Alan and Marilyn Bergman, Lindy Robbins, and Carole Bayer Sager-Mr. Feinstein is an all-star force in American music.

Cheyenne Jackson is a multi-talented, award-winning stage, film, and television actor. He is currently appearing on NBC's 30 Rock as Danny Baker, Fox's hit TV series Glee as the new coach of Vocal Adrenaline, Dustin Goolsby, and will soon be seen on HBO's final season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Upcoming 2011 films include Smile and The Green opposite Julia Ormond and Illeana Douglas. On- and off-Broadway, Cheyenne has starred in: Finian's Rainbow (Drama Desk nomination), Damn Yankees, Xanadu (Drama League, Drama Desk nominations), The Agony & the Agony, All Shook Up (Theater World Award, Drama League, Outer Critics Circle nomination), the premiere cast of Altar Boyz, Aida, Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Cartells, On the 20th Century, and The 24 Hour Plays. Other film and television credits include: the Oscar-nominated United 93, Curiosity, Hysteria, Photo Op, Family Practice, Life on Mars, Ugly Betty, and It Takes a Village. Mr. Jackson is an ambassador for amfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research) and he serves as the national ambassador and spokesperson for HMI (The Hetrick-Martin Institute).

For Carnegie Hall Corporation presentations taking place in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, a limited number of seats, priced at $10, will be available day-of-concert beginning at 11:00 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 12:00 noon on Sunday until one hour before the performance or until supply lasts. The exceptions are Carnegie Hall Family Concerts and gala events. These $10 tickets are available to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis at the Carnegie Hall Box Office only. There is a two-ticket limit per customer.
