Fearne Cotton Launches High Summer 2011 Collection for Very.co.uk

The season of love has arrived as DJ and designer, Fearne Cotton presents her high summer collection for Very.co.uk at the exclusive members club Home House, London.

Inspired by a mixture of 60's and 70's references, Fearne's designs draw on key shapes and styles including peasant blouses, voluminous maxi dresses and simple sundresses. Featuring a neutral palette of fawn, taupe and oyster punctuated with a colour clash of purple, orange, and hot pink, the collection gives the feel of dreamy seventies summer suburbia.

‘The theme of this collection was being in love in the summer time - your first love when your stomach is in knots. There's no better feeling. There are some really special pieces in there, perfect for a big summer party or event, along side some versatile key pieces that can be worn all season.' said Fearne.

Dresses continue to play a significant role this season. Maxi dresses - synonymous with the seventies are presented in billowing and draped styles featuring embellishment, Toile de Jouy prints or ombre dip dye finishes. Offering a less structured option for a balmy summer's evening, the floor sweeping hemlines are set to be the look of the season.

A seductive twist comes in the cocktail dress in delicate double-faced voile; the asymmetric neck line and softly rouched lace, interwoven with fine metallic thread lends the style a subtle sex appeal.

Separates are simple in shape, using texture, fabric and subtle detail to create effect. A sunray pleated knee length skirt in a gentle spot print summarises the soft, refined aesthetic continued through with a lace detail T-shirt and polka dot, back tied shirt.
