From sprint triathlons to Ironman, the importance of training wisely is key to ensure a safe and successful event. FasCat Coaching is hosting a Triathlon Sport Science Camp on March 18-20, 2016 in Boulder, Colorado for the athlete looking to succeed during this year's triathlon season.
The FasCat Triathlon Sport Science Camp offers in-depth and extensive analysis of each sport in triathlon, providing individual results, coaching, and training plans based on technical and physiological testing.
Athletes will take part in swim flume video and analysis, 3D running gait video and analysis, and full physiological testing on the bike to identify aerobic and lactic acid threshold, metabolism and energy-used efficiency in racing. Participants are coached to understand their individual technical and physiological results so the path forward for triathlon training is clear.
"The Triathlon Camp marries comprehensive physiological and biomechanical analysis with expert coaching to provide a real foundation for success," said Frank Overton, Founder, Owner, and CEO of FasCat Coaching. "The athletes enjoy understanding their capabilities, improving their technique and are even more motivated to achieve their goals at the end of the weekend."
The Triathlon Sport Science Camp is an all-inclusive 3-day weekend retreat that provides the opportunity for athletes to understand the dynamics of open water swimming, get out and refine running skills on Boulder trails, and undertake a lap of the Boulder Ironman bike course to work on pacing over hills at altitude. Fueling strategies, take-home training plans, and expert coaching and advice are all part of the weekend program.
The FastCat team that leads the Triathlon Camp are all active athletes and competitors. Coaches have minimal qualifications of Level 2 USA Cycling Certified Coach and/or Category 2/Semi-Pro Racer, are professional careers coaches, and have extensive experience training, racing, and coaching athletes. The team brings decades of experience in all disciplines of the sport.
The Triathlon training camp will be held at the new University of Colorado Center for Sports Medicine and Performance Center in Boulder. This new, 27,000-square-foot, high-performance athletic center serves all athletes, from professionals to weekend racers, with an integrated approach to cutting-edge athletics and overall health and medicine.
Packages are available for locally-based, Boulder athletes and out-of-town athletes will stay at the Millennium Harvest House, just a short walk from the CU Performance Center and on the doorstep of Boulder Creek Path. The Camp starts at $1175 for the 3-day program.
