Colin Farrell and Ralph Fiennes will star in a Martin McDonagh film entitled In Bruges. This marks the Tony-nominated playwright's first feature length film. McDonagh's writting was most recently seen on Broadway in The Lieutenant of Inishmore at The Lyceum Theatre.

The Focus Features and Film4 suspense thriller, will begin shooting in Bruges, Belgium, in February. The motion picture starring Farrell and  two-time Academy Award nominee Fiennes will also feature Brendan Gleeson, Clémence Poésy, and Jérémie Renier.

In Bruges, is "the darkly comedic tale of the fates of hit men Ray(Farrell) and Ken (Gleeson). After a difficult job in London, the team is ordered by their boss Harry (Fiennes) to cool their heels in Bruges. Very much out of their comfort zones, the men find themselves drawn into increasingly dangerous entanglements with locals, tourists, and a film shoot. Soon, their perspectives on life and death are violently skewed," according to press notes.

Martin McDonagh has had four Tony-nominated plays on Broadway; The Lieutenant of Inishmore, The Pillowman, The Lonesome West and The Beauty Queen of Leenane. McDonagh also wrote and directed the Live-Action Short Six Shooter, which earned him an Academy Award.
