Farah Alvin and Jarrod Spector Will Lead Reading of DATE OF A LIFETIME Musical

Producers Michael Alden, George DeMarco, Frank Evans and Jack Lechner announced today that they will present a private reading of the new musical DATE OF A LIFETIME on Thursday, September 17th. Four time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks (Guys and Dolls) serves as Creative Consultant. Date of a Lifetime features a book and lyrics by Carl Kissin and music by Rob Baumgartner, Jr.

The reading will feature a cast led by Farah Alvin (It Shoulda Been You) and Jarrod Spector (Beautiful).

Marvin and Katie have a fleeting encounter while speed dating. During their brief time together they each, in turn, imagine what their lives would be like if they allowed this momentary meeting to evolve to the next level. Their decisions may determine their entire future and whether this will turn out to be a date from hell, or the date of a lifetime.

FARAH ALVIN (Katie) has been seen on Broadway in It Shoulda Been You, Nine, The Look of Love, Saturday Night Fever, Grease! and A Christmas Carol. Off-Broadway credits include The Last Smoker In America (cast album), The Marvelous Wonderettes (Drama Desk Nomination, cast album), I Love You Because (cast album), If You Give A Mouse A Cookie..., and Kuni-Leml. Other New York credits include Date of a Lifetime (NYMF Outstanding Actress Award), The Tenth Floor(Talkin' Broadway Best Actress Citation), and concerts at The Town Hall and 54 Below. Regional credits include Pump Boys... (Geva), Single Girl's Guide (Capital Rep), Ricky Ian Gordon's Sycamore Trees (Signature Theater, Helen Hayes Award), Funny Girl (Gretna Theatre), [title of show] (Theatreworks Silicon Valley),Pirates of Penzance (Huntington Theatre), and Ragtime (White Plains PAC). JARROD SPECTOR (Marvin) was nominated for both Tony and Outer Critics Circle Awards for his portrayal of Barry Mann in the Broadway hit Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. He previously ended his tenure as Frankie Valli in Broadway's Jersey Boys after a record 1,500 performances. He was also seen on Broadway in LES MISERABLES (Gavroche). National Tours include LES MISERABLES and Jersey Boys. Off-Broadway credits include Hamlet (Hamlet) and Regional credits include Piece of my Heart (Bert Berns) at New York Stage and Film. Jarrod attended Princeton University and trained at the Atlantic Theater Company in New York. In addition to his solo concerts and a new duet show with his wife, Broadway star Kelli Barrett, Jarrod has two albums available on iTunes and Amazon, including a recording of his concert "A Little Help" From My Friends LIVE at 54 Below.

JERRY ZAKS has directed more than 35 productions in New York. His credits include Shows For Days, Sister Act, The Addams Family, Guys and Dolls, Six Degrees of Separation, Lend Me a Tenor, House of Blue Leaves, The Front Page, A Funny Thing...Forum, Smokey Joe's Café, Anything Goes, La Cage aux Folles, Little Shop of Horrors, The Man Who Came to Dinner, The Foreigner, A Bronx Tale, Laughter on the 23rd Floor, Sister Mary Ignatius..., Beyond Therapy, Baby with the Bath Water, and The Marriage of Bette and Boo. He has received four Tony Awards and seven nominations. He has also received four Drama Desk Awards, two Outer Critics Circle Awards, and an Obie Award. Mr. Zaks received the SDC's George Abbott Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre and an honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts from Dartmouth, his alma mater. He is a 2013 inductee to the Theatre Hall of Fame.

CARL KISSIN performed 4,000 shows for one of this country's premier sketch and improvisational comedy groups, Chicago City Limits. He has performed his own material on the syndicated sketch comedy show "Kwik Witz," "The Joan Rivers Show", and "The Today Show," and developed and directed sketches for the pilot episodes of NBC's "Live On Tape." In other acting venues, Carl performed at the Public Theatre in Eric Bogosian's play Talk Radio and was in Oliver Stone's movie version as the character Glenn. A three-time winner of the Manhattan Monologue Slam, Carl presented an evening of his monologues in the solo show End of the Line, interactive monologues in No Solo Mio, and put his day-to-day life on stage in Carl Kissin: Reality TV- Live On Stage. Carl has written book and lyrics for the musicals Alone World, (Winner: best book, lyrics - West Village Musical Theatre Festival 2011) and Date of a Lifetime, (Winner: Excellence in writing - lyrics - New York Musical Festival 2011).

ROB BAUMGARTNER, JR. composed the music for Adam Lives (Goodspeed Festival of New Musicals, NAMT Songwriters Showcase, Cap21), What the Moon Saw(Cap21), Alone World with Carl Kissin (Lincoln Center Directors Lab, Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, West Village Musical Theatre Festival-winner of Best Score),Under Construction, The Hole (St. Clements '09), Radiant Ruby (Vital Theatre Company '05) and Lullabies. In addition to his work as a composer, Rob serves as an assistant to composers Galt MacDermot (Hair), Rob Reale (A Year With Frog and Toad) and Debra Barsha (Radiant Baby). Upcoming projects include an adaptation of The Jungle with Nathan Dame and The Noise Upstairs with Branden Huldeen. Rob is serving as musical director for the upcoming revival of Inner City starring Martha Wash and Annie Golden. He is a proud music theory teacher at Cap21.
