Broadway Diva Faith Prince returns to Lifetime's "Drop Dead Diva" as Elaine Bingum, mother of series star Jane (played by another Broadway Diva – Brooke Elliot). This season, Prince, a "Drop Dead Diva" semi-regular, is back for two episodes. In "Crushed", the episode airing July 15th, Elaine guilts her daughter into representing the girl she used to babysit in a headline-grabbing murder trial. In the season finale, airing September 9th, she plays the role every mother waits her whole life to play – Mother of the Bride. Elaine is thrilled that her daughter is "finally getting married" and comes to help Jane with the last minute details. But like any mother-daughter relationship, where there's a wedding, there's a fight and tears, and threats of "I'm not going to your wedding!"
"We are very excited to bring Faith Prince back to Drop Dead Diva this season," says executive producer Craig Zadan, who produces the show with Neil Meron and creator-show runner-executive producer Josh Berman. "She is one of our favorite guest stars and, as always, we like to cast as often as possible from the great Broadway community of acting talent."
Diva's Berman, Zadan and Meron recently picked up a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Episode, The Prom.
