The new musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' Great Expectations will be presented in a Sunday, October 30th closed reading that will be headlined by Faith Prince.

The star-studded reading will feature Prince (Tony Award-winner for Guys and Dolls, A Man of No Importance, Bells Are Ringing), Eric Kunze (Damn Yankees, Miss Saigon), Janene Lovullo (Les Miserables, The Pirates of Penzance), Stephen Breithaupt, Melissa Lyons and a cast of Broadway regulars.  The reading can be attended by invitation only at the new Boston Court Theater in Pasadena, CA .  Great Expectations features music by Richard Winzeler, Lyrics by Steve Lane, and book by Steve Lozier and Brian VanDerWilt, from a concept by Margaret Hoorneman.

Great Expectations follows the coming-of-age adventures of the orphan Pip, who encounters the sad, faded Miss Havisham and the pretty, young Estella at the decaying Satis House.

Great Expectations will return after a successful staged reading in Los Angeles in 2001 which starred Hugh Panaro, Anastasia Barzee and Academy Award-winner Cloris Leachman as Miss Havisham.  The creative team has confirmed the new involvement of director Calvin Remsberg and the completion of a significant rewrite.  A producer for a commerical transfer is currently being sought.
