FUKT, A New Play About Women Telling, To Be A Staged Reading As Part Of WHAM! At Bernie Wohl Center ImageGoddard Riverside presents a staged reading of FUKT by Emma Goldman-Sherman on Monday, March 26, at 7:30pm at The Bernie Wohl Arts Center. FUKT is presented as part of WHAM! Women History Artist Month, a month long celebration of local women in the arts.

FUKT is an autobiographical one-woman show that morphs into a meta-theatrical romp with 3 actors vying to survive Emma's true-life story of how she survived childhood sexual abuse and the trauma of remembering it and trying to tell it. A dramedy where women survive; we tell our truths, move on and live our lives!

Trigger warnings for childhood sexual abuse and violence.

The cast features Karen Eleanor Wight (The Screwtape Letters), IRNE-nominated actress Andrea Goldman (United Solo Festival From The Heartland of Nausea) and Kelsea Feder (TAMAR, the Two Gated City). Wight, Goldman and Feder play the roles of Emma, Barbara and Bobbie-the same woman with different names at different times of her life.

Directed by Janice L. Goldberg, Artistic Co-Director of ANDTheatre Company, and Kennedy Center Gold Medallion Awardee for her work with new plays. She recently directed I Of The Storm, which premiered last fall at The Gym at Judson.

Award-winning playwright Emma Goldman-Sherman creates timeless yet relevant, feminist work that engages on multiple levels to heal what our culture refuses to address. Her work has been produced at Dixon Place, New Ohio, WP Theatre, Manhattan Theatre Source, Golden Thread, EST-LA, Canal Cafe Theatre, and others.

The staged reading is presented with support of the 29th Street Playwrights Collective New Works Series, an early developmental organization, dedicated to presenting new works for stage written by mature emerging playwrights and to promoting gender parity in Theatre.

Tickets are $15 and are available at Eventbrite

Proceeds will benefit the Goddard Riverside Summer Performing Arts Camp.
