Co-Artistic Director of MCC Theater Will Cantler said, "Simon Stephen's play is explosive - a real gut punch. It's the kind of writing that surprises at every twist and still feels inevitable when it's done. It's just the sort of keep-you-talking play we love, and our good friend Trip Cullman is going to take this very sexy young cast and rock it out."

In a private school outside of Manchester, England a group of highly-articulate seventeen year-olds flirt and posture their way through the day while preparing for their A-Level mock exams. With hormones raging and minimal adult supervision, nothing can mask the underlying tension that becomes increasingly pronounced as the clock ticks towards the ultimate dismissal.

Inspired by playwright Simon Stephens' own experiences as a teacher, Punk Rock is an unnerving chronicle of contemporary adolescence at the breaking point. Stephens is currently represented on Broadway by the Olivier Award-winning The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time now playing at the Barrymore Theatre.
