FMPAT Hosts Auditions for 2010 Youth Summer Production Camp

FMPAT's Young Artist Training Program is pleased to announce round one of auditions for it's 18th annual Summer Production Camp to be held on Saturday, February 27th by appointment. The camp runs June 28th - July 24th. Under direction of Stephanie Riggs with music direction by Adam C. Wright, summer production camp is performance changing for students who are selected. This camp is unique to other camps in the Metroplex with it's small size, intensity, and high level of performance growth. We hope you will join us for this traditional, magical training camp!

GODSPELL, based on the Gospel according to St. Matthew, brings the parables of Jesus Christ to life humanly and hearteningly with a sparkling rock score by Stephen Schwartz, and a true ensemble of amazingly versatile and talented actors making for an emotional and moving night of live theatre! Summer Camp provides a tremendous experience for serious, experienced, intermediate and advanced, mature young artists. Our students learn from the best in the "biz". Working with the youth in this exciting, intense few weeks of theatre, is our production team who are Professional directors, music directors and choreographers, with a long history of training the top youth performers in the Metroplex. Campers learn the full production process; including music, choreography, and scene work.

Auditions-Round One
Saturday, February 27th 6pm-7pm (by appointment only)

ALL youth and teen, including current students
(typically ages 10 18) MUST audition for the camp.
Only a limited number of campers will be accepted, depending on production needs. For this year's camp, we will be accepting only 20 students.

To Prepare For The Auditions
Candidates should prepare one song (16 32 bars) in the style of the show, and bring a current photo and resume/bio.
Candidates whom cannot audition in person, can submit a DVD audition tape to be received BEFORE February 27th. Please record the 16 bar song selection on the tape and clearly label it with candidates name and contact information (Name, Parent's Name, Address, Phone #, Email). Also, include a short resume/bio. **Please note: When students are doing pre- audition research, the film version of the musical GODSPELL is NOT recommended viewing. For research on style or to hear music from the show, please reference the 2001 Off-Broadway Revival Soundtrack. Sound bits are available at amazon.com.

TUITION
$1295* for 4 weeks of intense training by area professionals. (*Not more than 20 students will be accepted.)

*Campers will provide their own lunch daily
(Concessions available)
*Campers will also provide their own costume based on a design to be provided.
