F*It Club, the New York Innovative Award-winning film and theatre company, continues its annual series of short, commissioned world-premiere plays at the Medicine Show Theatre in Manhattan with The Spring Fling: The Morning After, six new plays by Hilary Bettis (American Girls), Nick Jones (The Coward, Trevor), Krista Knight (Clementine and the Cyber Ducks), Janine Nabers (Annie Bosh is Missing), Heidi Schreck (There Are No More Big Secrets, Creature), and Joe Tracz (Up North) and directed by Oliver Butler (Blood Play), Matt Dickson (The Man-Made Rock), Mike Donahue (Grace, or the Art of Climbing), Portia Krieger (The Netflix Plays), Stella Powell-Jones (Williamstown Theatre Festival Directing Assistant), and Pirronne Yousefzadeh (Ten, The Tenant). Performances will be Thursday, April 4th through Sunday, April 14th with Thursday through Saturday night performances at 8pm and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2p.
Covering the the theme of "The Morning After," these six world-premiere plays navigate everything from heartbreak and mystery to joy and desire. No two plays deliver the same result; and all are surprising, thought-provoking, and highly entertaining.
Designed to showcase high-quality, brand-new ten-minute plays, The Spring Fling offers emerging and established playwrights the chance to develop their work with the support of professional directors and designers and a cast of exceptionally talented New York artists. This annual series presents simple, actor-centric productions that add to the canon of thematically rich, complex and original ten-minute plays. Previous Spring Fling playwrights have been Brooke Berman, Lucy Boyle, Bekah Brunstetter, Ashlin Halfnight, Greg Keller, Anna Kerrigan, Victor Lesniewski, Caroline V. McGraw, Isaac Oliver, Mark Schultz, and Anna Ziegler. The Spring Fling series has been nominated for a total of eight New York Innovative Theatre Awards and won two consecutive years.
The creative team for The Spring Fling: The Morning After also includes Schuyler Burks (Scenic Designer), Stacey Berman (Costume Designer), David A. Sexton (Lighting Designer), Marty Brown (Sound Designer) and Bethany Clark (Stage Manager).
Performances at the Medicine Show Theatre are Thursday April 4th through Sunday, April 14th with Thursday through Saturday evening performances at 8p, with additional Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2p.
