Deadline reports that Jason Alexander is set to star in a new comedy pilot for Adult Swim, created by Adam Lustick. Currently untitled, the 'Seinfeld' alum will portray "an award-winning psychotherapist who snaps one day and his therapy with his patients becomes more and more bizarre. However, he is such a CELEBRATED doctor that his peers are reluctant to question his strange and unconventional methods."

The Tony Award-winning actor returns to Broadway on Tuesday, June 9 when he assumes the role of Norman Drexel in Larry David's hit comedy Fish In the Dark, directed by Anna D. Shapiro, at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street). Mr. Alexander steps into the role created by Mr. David in the comedy about a death in the family.

A Tony Award winner for his performance in the musical Jerome Robbins' Broadway, Jason Alexander came to national prominence in 1989 as George Costanza in the landmark TV comedy "Seinfeld." George Costanza, a character created by "Seinfeld" co-creator Larry David, and based on himself, became one of television's most loved characters and garnered Alexander a Golden Globe Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and six Emmy nominations for his performance during the comedy's nine-year run. In addition to Jerome Robbins' Broadway, Jason Alexander appeared on Broadway in Rupert Holmes' Accomplice, Neil Simon's Broadway Bound, and the musicals The Rink and Merrily We Roll Along. His Off-Broadway credits include Light Up The Sky, Personals, and FORBIDDEN Broadway. He most recently starred on stage in the Los Angeles run of the hit musical The Producers. His many film appearances include roles in Brighton Beach Memoirs, Pretty Woman, The Paper, and Love! Valour! Compassion!. He directed the films Just Looking and For Better or Worse. In addition to "Seinfeld," he has appeared in scores of television shows, the most recent being "Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee," "Community," "Two and a Half Men," "Harry's Law," "Criminal Minds," "The New Adventures of Old Christine," "Monk," "Malcolm in the Middle," and "Friends."
