BroadwayWorld recently announced that a reading of the new musical, In the Light, was held on April 5, starring Jeremy Jordan, Teal Wicks and Bobby Conte Thornton.

This original retelling of the Faust legend features music and lyrics by Michael Mott with a book by Nathan Wright and Justin Silvestri.

TONY Award Nominee, Jeremy Jordan (Newsies, CW's "Supergirl") stars as Johann Faustus alongside Teal Wicks (The Cher Show, Wicked), Bobby Conte Thornton (A Bronx Tale), Sofia Deler (2018 Jimmy Award Winner), and Antonio Cipriano (Jagged Little Pill).

The cast will be completed by Enrique Acevedo (Giant), Brandon Contreras (Beauty and the Beast, Drury Lane), Janet Dickinson (Anastasia), Kevin Gardner (Abandoned Heart), Cooper Grodin (Working, ACT of CT), Tally Sessions (Anastasia, War Paint), Karla Shook (Philly, The Musical), Laura Yen Solito (Kismet, NY City Center), and Lindsay Rider (Fox's" American Idol").

With music and lyrics by Michael Mott, and a book by Nathan Wright and Justin Silvestri, the musical is inspired by the Faust legends. In it, we are taken on a journey from the bloody courts of the Medieval Inquisition to the magical center of the universe. With its sweeping contemporary score and original story, we explore the dangers of ambition and the redeeming powers of love.

In The Light, a Faustian tale has music direction by Joshua Zecher-Ross and arrangements by Michael Mott, Joshua Zecher-Ross and Jeff Theiss.
