Fantasy musical Find The Golden Bird, which recently announced Off-Broadway intentions will make it's World Premier at New York's Thespis Festival. The show, based on a Nordic tale, aims at bring the fantasy genre of musicals back to adult audiences.
The Off-Broadway bound tuner is directed by Faith Connor with a lyrics by Larry R. Yates and score by Emily Rose Simons. The show is lead by Brady Cudmore (Come Back To Me Once More), Emily Wexler (The Fantastics), and Anthony Logan Cole (Les Miserables). "Very rarely do you find shows of this kind," said Cole recently at a press event. "This a sweeping, epic, and touching fantasy story for adults. It satisfies my inner nerd and I couldn't be happier."
The cast also features Scot Cahoon, Zachary Steinman, and Mami Kimura with Nina Deacon, Kevin S. Piñero, Kelly Coalson, Kareem Elsamadicy, Nina Deacon, and Aaron Moses Robin.
Find The Golden Bird tells the tale of Prince Kaj (Cudmore) who is tasked by his father King Alf (Steinman) to return the mystical Golden Bird and save the kingdom. Kaj, with the help of a mysterious talking fox Vicki (Wexler), must overcome trolls, his vicious brothers Tor (Cole) and Bjorg (Cahoon), and the seductive Candela (Kimura) to complete his quest. Find The Golden Bird is a powerful and epic testament to the power of love.
Find The Golden begins performances July 14th with musical direction by Leigh Pomeranz and choreography by Stine Moen.
