Writer-producer Steven Rogers was born in Seattle but because his father produced regional theatre for a living, grew up all across America wherever his family had a season. Forgoing college, he moved to N.Y.C. at 17 and studied acting with Sandford Meisner at The Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre where he first met and befriended I, TONYA's LaVona, Allison Janney. He toured in Larry Shue's play The Foreigner winning a critics prize in Los Angeles and moved to Hollywood in order to become famous. He didn't. Instead, he wrote his first screenplay, KATE AND LEOPOLD, in order to be in it. He wasn't. In very quick succession he wrote, HOPE FLOATS, Anne Tyler's EARTHLY POSSESSIONS and STEPMOM. He then decided to focus on writing and just act on the page. Other writing credits includes P.S.
