In Episode 417 of "Something New" -- a musical theatre podcast that interviews diverse artists and premieres original songs -- award-winning songwriter Joel B. New sat down with the Founders of Motivated Movers, Elise Hearden and Jesse Palmer.

Elise Hearden currently lives in Chicago where she straddles a life in arts and commerce as Co-Founder and Executive Director of Motivated Movers, a full-time Masters in Arts Management Candidate at Columbia College Chicago, Client Services Account Coordinator for Prevail Strategy, & a new intern at Auditorium Theatre. A graduate from Oklahoma City University with a B.A. in American Dance Pedagogy - she has performed and choreographed across the country both professionally and for educational theatre. On the other side of the table Elise served as Casting Director for the Hangar Theatre's 2014 and 2015 Seasons, and assistant to Artistic Director, Jen Waldman.

Jesse Palmer is a Catholic University of America alum & Maryland native. She is Co-Founder and Creative Director of Motivated Movers. On stage credits include: Oliver (Bet/ Arena Stage), Fiddler on the Roof (Female Swing, Dance Captain and assistant choreographer), The Visit (Young Claire u/s, Signature Theater). Behind the scenes, Jesse has served as resident choreographer for Centerstage at The Catholic University of America. Most recently, Jesse choreographed "Catch Me If you Can" at Montgomery College Summer Dinner Theater in Rockville, MD.

For the live song portion of the episode, Elise and Jesse perform a parody pop song called "Sexy Hallway" featuring KC Comeaux. Music and lyrics by Joel B. New. The song -- along with its lyrics -- is also available on SoundCloud.

Joel B. New is the recipient of an American Theatre Wing Jonathan Larson Grant for his music and lyrics. His stage projects include TO HELL AND BACK, MACKENZIE & THE MISSING BOY, AWAKENING (book: Jenny Stafford, music: J. Oconer Navarro), STANDALONE, AGATHA IN THE ATTIC, and RSVP. Joel's work has been seen and developed at Ars Nova, Lincoln Center, 54 Below, New York Theatre Barn, Prospect Theater Company, Musical Theatre Factory, and the 2015 New York Musical Theatre Festival. He is currently in pre-production for his solo EP Cabot Cove, a collection of songs inspired by book titles referenced to in the TV series Murder, She Wrote, starring Tony Award winner Angela Lansbury.
