Exclusive: NEWSIES' Corey Cott Lands Lead Role in Indie Film THE TEACHER  ImageLess than one year after making his Broadway debut in Disney's Newsies, Corey Cott has landed the title role in the independent feature, The Teacher, written and directed by Jeremy Engle, produced by Tarisai Gombe.

A 2012 graduate of Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, Cott makes his feature debut playing Vance Stewart, an idealistic young teacher facing his biggest challenge - teaching in a New York City public high school.

The Teacher began production in New York on August 5th. According to Mr. Cott's representative, he will continue performing the role of Jack Kelly in Newsies.

Cott is repped by manager Geoff Soffer at Soffer/Namoff Entertainment, lawyer Michael Mahan, and agent Jason Gutman at Gersh.
