Leader Marlow's inventive arrangements and lively presence at the keys--combined with multi- Grammy-nominee drummer Bobby Sanabria's and virtuoso percussionist Cristian Rivera's arsenal of Afro-Cuban rhythms, saxophonist
Michael Hashim's expressive horns, and the powerful yet poignant bassist
Frank Wagner--bring compelling variety to the table.
As Chris Spector of Midwest Record puts it: "The Players are all first call cats and the result is a dandy fresh take, just like the title [of their latest album] says."
