SubCulture has announced its upcoming shows for November 2013.
Life + Times delved into Etienne Charles' new album, Creole Soul, calling it "his most ambitious [album] yet", you can read the entire interview here. The young trumpet player's fourth album takes deep influences from his Afro-American culture, mixing R&B and Hip-hop rhythms along with jazz and Motown ones. Charles Brings his sound to SubCulture for two shows on November 8th!
You might recognize the Amy Winehouse-reminiscent voice on Cee Lo Green's tune "Only You", which actually belongs to the soulful jazz singer/songwriter Lauriana Mae. Her voice that sometimes recalls Etta James mixed with contemporary pop and R&B rhythms make for a very unique sound that you can preview in her last song "Money Mae" here. She will hit the SubCulture stage on November 13th.
