In the wake of the recent devastation in both Mexico and Puerto Rico, a group of world-class artists along with Arts for Mexico & Puerto Rico, Songbirds of Peace (501c3), and the Symphony Orchestra of the Americas have teamed up to produce a Gala Concert in which 100% of the proceeds will be donated towards the recovery efforts in the two affected countries.
The roster of artists include: Erika Amato (Flashdance the Musical, Into The Woods, Hairspray), Italian tenor Francesco Anile (Pagliacci directed by Franco Zeffirelli, Otello at the Met), Amy Orsulak (Lotte Lenya Competition First Prize Winner), young rising opera stars Juan del Bosco, Amanda Gerome, Maria Fernanda Brea, the Symphony Orchestra of the Americas under the direction of conductor Felipe Tristan, and more.
With generous support of CUNY, Lehman College's Jaime Lucero Institute, G & S Logistics, Mexican Festival Restaurant, and the community at large, this event will take place on October 14th, 2017 from 4-9pm at the Assembly Hall of Hunter College, located on 695 Park Ave. New York, NY (entrance on E 69th Street). The evening will begin at 4pm with an Opening Concert featuring solo artists and bands from the worlds of musical theatre, pop, and classical. After the opening, beginning at 7pm, the Gala Concert will be comprised of performances by world-class opera singers, classical musicians, and the Symphony Orchestra of the Americas. Tickets range in price from $30 - $100 and each ticket grants admission to BOTH sections of this evening of performances.
