Eric Zener often uses the natural world as a metaphor to portray moments of personal decision and change. His subjects are divers suspended in mid-flight or men and women treading water, yet they appear to transcend time and place. Other paintings investigate representations of the artist's internal dialogue: images of beds with tussled sheets are seen from extreme angles, conveying a certain degree of unrest. Zener's work delights in the revelation that each painting inflects mood, beauty, and catharsis.
The exhibition features 12 new paintings from both his Sleep series and Water series as well as a selection of resin-mixed media paintings.
