On Friday, February 4, 8:00pm, legendary songsmith and "social critic and proletarian party boy" (Toronto Star), Enoch Kent, will be presented by the Folk Music Society of New York, Inc./ New York Pinewoods Folk Music Club at OSA, 220 E 23rd St, Suite 707, New York!

Scotland-born and now Canada-based, Enoch was co-founder of the renowned Singers Club with Ewan MacColl and Peggy Seeger, as well as The Reivers, and The Exiles. Since immigrating to Canada in the 1960s, Enoch performed in many folk clubs and festivals across the country to critical acclaim. Focusing on the live experience, Enoch put recording aside for, as he says, "a wee while".

A mere 36 years later, at 70 years young, Enoch returned to the studio with a vengeance, releasing 6 outstanding CDs that have garnered rave reviews, extensive airplay, a Canadian Folk Music Award, an Ontario Council of Folk Festivals Songs From The Heart Award, and tour opportunities across Canada, the US, and UK. His brand spanking new CD, "Take A Trip With Me", is already garnering great praise.

Enoch's music is treasured by both traditional and contemporary music enthusiasts with a passion for comedy, story-songs, love & betrayal ballads, and gritty politics. While his songs are deeply rooted in the Scottish style, much of his subject matter is Canadian, giving his music a unique cultural blend. What's more is Enoch's natural storytelling style complemented by a ferocious wit.
