Encore Performance Added to Adriane Lenox's 6/18 Concert

New School/Old School," a special one night only concert starring Tony Award-winner Adriane Lenox, has added an additional performance due to popular demand. The special encore performance will begin at 9:45 PM on Sunday, June 18 at The Triad (158 West 72nd Street). The 7:30 PM performance is sold out.

Lenox, currently starring as Mrs. Muller in the hit Broadway play Doubt, returns to her musical roots with ""New School/Old School." Lenox will perform songs from the worlds of pop, blues, gospel, standards, and original songs," state press notes. In addition, she will welcome several special guests to perform with her including recording artist Dennis Collins, Kecia Lewis (The Drowsy Chaperone), and Tony nominee Michael McElroy (Big River).

The evening will feature musical direction by Lenox's' husband Zane Mark (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) and a special appearance by Lenox's daughter Crystal Joy.

Lenox received the Tony Award, the Drama Desk Award, and the Lucille Lortel Award for her portrayal of Mrs. Muller in John Patrick Shanley's Doubt. Lenox will be appearing in the upcoming films Black Snake Moan with Samuel L. Jackson, and Griffin and Phoenix with Dermot Mulroney. She has appeared on Broadway in Ain't Misbehavin'; Dreamgirls; How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying; and Kiss Me, Kate, among others. She also won Obie and Audelco Awards for multiple-character performance in Dinah Was. Off-Broadway, she has been seen in Miss Evers Boys, Cavedweller, Spunk, Susan Lori Parks' The America Play and The Venus Hottentot, Beehive, and others. TV appearances include "Law & Order"(original and "SVU") and "Third Watch." She has worked regionally at such theatres as Arena Stage, receiving the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical for their production of On the Town, as well as at Berkeley Rep, Yale Rep, the Mark Taper Forum, The Long Wharf Theatre, and The ALLIANCE THEATRE.
