David Bousso, founder, artistic director & conductor of the EMPIRE CHAMBER ORCHESTRA (ECO) is very excited about launching the spring concert of his new ensemble, which will take place at 8:00 PM tonight, March 28th at the Good Shepherd-Faith Presbyterian Church located on West 66th Street in New York City.
The EMPIRE CHAMBER ORCHESTRA's mission of is to create opportunities for young professional musicians to play with high-quality ensembles, perform the works of the great composers, introduce works by contemporary composers and feature young up-coming artists, while giving back to the community where these young artists grew up and received their musical training. Given the present state of the arts organizations, ECO's mission is becoming more important than ever, in order to keep the arts flowing and topresent great quality concerts to our community.
Bousso, a native New Yorker, has established himself as a professional versatile conductor, orchestral, chamber and solo violinist as well as a teacher. He guest-conducted the Union City Philharmonic, Norwalk Youth Symphony, NYU Symphony and Philharmonia Orchestras and has recently performed as soloist with The New York Chamber Virtuosi. As an active member of the West Eastern Divan Orchestra for over the past decade, under the direction of Maestro Daniel Barenboim, Bousso has particpated in performances by the orchestra in 30 countries across 4 continents. He also toured as the concertmaster and solo violinist of the Broadway musical Little House on the Prairie, which was performed in 25 cities throughout the U.S and Canada. This concert will once again feature violinist Joseph Morag as well as Emily Shyr on Oboe, Ethan Brown on Cello and Joshua Butcher on Bassoon in Haydn's Sinfonia Concertante in B Flat Major.The performance on March 28th will also feature Elegy a composition by contemporary an upcoming New York composer Samuel Zagnit. The Piece is will receive its premiere by the Empire Chamber Orchestra The concert on March 28, will include Rossini's Overture to the Italian Girl in Algiers, Beethoven's rarely performed symphony No 4.; it promises to an exciting event for the local community.
