Mo Rocca to Perform in WHITE RABBIT RED RABBIT on Election Eve

Maberry Theatricals have announced that Emmy Award winning writer, "CBS Sunday Morning" correspondent, author, actor & presidential historian Mo Rocca (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) will take the leap in White Rabbit Red Rabbit, the internationally-acclaimed play by Nassim Soleimanpour, on Election Eve, Monday, November 7 at 8pm.

"Forget donkeys and elephants - the most presidential of animals is the rabbit. After all, it was the pet of choice for three of our greatest leaders. Surely you remember 'White Rabbit' Lincoln, 'Peter' Roosevelt and 'Zsa Zsa' Kennedy," says Mo Rocca. "While I don't know what's in store for me on November 7th - yes, I know that some of you are fixated on that big to-do on November 8th - I do know that I'm ready to rise to the challenge!"

WHITE RABBIT RED RABBIT makes its New York Premiere in this limited engagement, playing Monday nights at Westside Theatre (407 W 43rd Street). Performances began on March 7.

Mo Rocca is a Correspondent for "CBS Sunday Morning" and host of "The Henry Ford's Innovation Nation" Saturday mornings on CBS. He's the host and creator of "My Grandmother's Ravioli" on Cooking Channel and a frequent panelist on "NPR's Wait Wait ... Don't Tell Me!" Mo was a Correspondent for four seasons on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and is the author of the historical thriller All The Presidents' Pets: The Story of One Reporter Who Refused to Roll Over. Mo starred on Broadway as Panch in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, played Doody in the Southeast Asian tour of Grease, and won an Emmy Award as a writer for the 2010 Tony Awards.

No rehearsal. No director. No set. No spoilers. A different performer each night is handed the script for the first time as they step onto the stage. Forbidden to leave his country, young Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour found a way for his voice to get out when he physically could not. This wildly entertaining and thought-provoking theatrical piece - where no audience can see the same show twice - blends drama, comedy and social experiment, providing audiences with a potent reminder of the transformative power of theatre.

The play had its world premiere in 2011 at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, winning the Arches Brick Award, followed by presentations at Summerworks and Dublin Fringe Festival where it was awarded "Outstanding New Performance" and "Best New Performance" respectively. The play has since been translated into fifteen different languages and performed over 200 times worldwide - from London to Oslo, Athens, Berlin, Melbourne and Singapore - by such stars as Michael Shannon, John Hurt, Stephen Fry, Stephen Rea, Sinead Cusack, David Morse and more.
