2012 Oscar nominee for AMOUR and internationally acclaimed octogenarian actress Emmanuelle Riva will make her long-awaited return to the stage in SAVANNAH BAY, a new bi-coastal French-language production of the Marguerite Duras play.
SAVANNAH BAY will first play at Théâtre de l'Atelier in Paris before a scheduled run at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. as part of a 2014 international theater festival.
SAVANNAH BAY starring Emmanuelle Riva premieres in Paris in February, with Kennedy Center dates set for March 19 through 22.
The official description of SAVANNAH BAY is as follows: "Featuring 2012 Academy Award nominee for Best Actress Emmanuelle Riva (Amour), Savannah Bay explores questions of identity, aging, and the fugitive memory of personal tragedy. A young woman desperately tries to discover the truth about the suicide of her mother in Savannah Bay, the day after her birth."
Of note, this will be Riva's first stage performance since her 2000 Paris run in MEDEA opposite Isabelle Huppert.
