Emilia Clarke Talks BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S & More

GAME OF THRONES Breakout star Emilia Clarke discusses her role in the new Broadway adaptation of Truman Capote's BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S as well as her role as dragon queen in the HBO fantasy series in a brief, yet wide-ranging new interview.

Clarke says that the new Richard Greenberg-penned, Sean Mathias-directed adaptation of the classic short story is a much different experience than the iconic Blake Edwards cinematic treatment of the source material. "The movie kind of glossed over a lot of stuff," she says. "I just think they missed the depth the novella offers, and the subtext and what it's saying about the time and sexuality."

Clarke opines that the character of Holly Golightly herself is a party girl at heart. "She's a good-time girl," Clarke says. "For me, archetypal good-time girls always have a tragic story."

She concludes, "There's something fascinating about them-it's this quality that people want, but you can't quite grab hold of it or contain it, because it's forever transient."

Furthermore, the winsome Clarke states that the fashionable side of Golightly hits close to home for the admittedly clotheshorse actress currently playing her onstage eight times a week.

"Me and heels are very good friends," she says.
