Emerging Artists Theater to Bring 'BEHIND THE WALL-An Autism Performance Piece' to Tada Theater, 3/22

Joyce Laoagan and Andy Miyamotto presents "BEHIND THE WALL-An Autism Performance Piece" as a part of New Work Series - Theater Done Differently produced by the Emerging Artists Theater Company (www.emergingartiststheatre.org) at the Tada Theater, 15 West 28th Street, New York City on March 22, 2014 at 9:00PM.

This series chooses some of the most creative shows that are in development and gives the artists the opportunity to get feedback from the audience. Succesful Off-Broadway, Fringe and NYMF shows were born out of this 3 week Residency Program.

"Behind the Wall" is a music and movement piece which depicts the journey of a person as she strives for understanding and acceptance of a loved one with medium to severe autism. Incorporating Tribal Filipino and National Japanese Traditional Music, martial arts movements and dance, this piece will surely touch the hearts and souls of those who can relate, and bring understanding to those who are not aware.

This is inspired by Joyce's brother, Clarence who is severely autistic.

Two of Joyce Laoagan's 10 minute interactive-performance based collaborative pieces will be presented as a part of "Collaborate Create" Exhibit produced by the Forward Flux Theater Co. on March 16, 2014, 7-10 PM at Theater Lab, 357 West 36th Street (between 8th and 9th Avenues). $15 at the door.
