The Emelin Theatre will be presenting the family shows THE UGLY DUCKLING and THE TORTOISE AND THE HARE on March 24, 2012 at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Adult tickets cost $18 and children's cost $13.

Encounter these beloved tales in a unique theatrical experience combining theater and dance with technology. The Ugly Duckling tells the story of a neglected duckling searching for friends who will love him for who he truly is. In the Tortoise and the Hare, children learn the valuable lesson that slow and steady wins the race. The recommended age is four years and older.

The Emelin Theatre will also be presenting NEARLY LEAR on March 31, 2012 at 8 p.m. Adult tickets cost $34, and student tickets cost $17. The New York Times has called it "A frisky, funny, tantalizing introduction to the lifelong pleasures of Shakespeare.”

Nearly Lear encapsulates all the grandeur of Shakespeare’s tragedy King Lear as seen through the eyes of the King’s closet companion – his own fool! As told by Lear’s devoted clown, the story is not only poignant and moving, but also mischievous, tender and hysterically funny.

On April 1st, the Emelin Theater will host a Bluegrass Brunch Benefit at 11 a.m. Benefit tickets cost $75. Join the Emelin in a celebration and benefit marking the 30th anniversary of the Emelin Theatre’s Bluegrass Concert Series. Since the Series was founded, the Emelin Theatre has earned a reputation among artists and audiences alike as one of the best bluegrass venues in the Northeast. Performance by the Westchester Bluegrass Boys.
