Elton John Reveals He Has New Movie Musical in the Works Starring Ben Stiller

In a recent interview with GQ Magazine, composer and lyricist Elton John revealed he is currently in the process of making a new movie musical that will star Ben Stiller.

Elton said, "I’ve got to try and write a film musical for Ben Stiller. It’s about a guy on Broadway who is gay, has HIV and AIDS, and has to go back and face his wife and his kids that he left. It’s very funny.  The premise doesn’t sound funny, but it is."

As a composer Elton John has created The Lion King, 1998 (6 Tony Awards); Aida, 2000 (Tony Award for Best Original Score); Lestat, 2006. (West End Musical) and his recent Broadway hit, Billy Elliot the Musical, 2005 (Olivier Award for Best Musical). His hit songs include Your Song, Rocket Man, Crocodile Rock, Daniel, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Candle In The Wind, Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me, Philadelphia Freedom, Don't Go Breaking My Heart (duet with Kiki Dee), Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word, The Bitch IS Back, Song For Guy, I Guess That's Why The Call the Blues, I'm Still Standing, Nikita, Blue Eyes, Sacrifice, Circle of Life, Are You Ready For Love, I Want Love, Electricity and many more. His music awards include Best British Male Artist Brit Award 1991, Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame, 1994, 5 Grammy Awards from 1986-2000, Grammy Legend Award 2001, Kennedy Center Honor 2004, and 11 Ivor Novello Awards, from 1973 to 2000.
