Sir Elton John will join other performers on October 20 for "The Speaking Clock Revue," a benefit for The Participant Foundation at the Beacon Theatre.
The concert will feature performances by artists including Gregg Allman, Jeff Bridges, Elvis Costello, Karen Elson, Jim James John Mellencamp, Leon Russell, Ralph Stanley, the Punch Brothers, and the Secret Sisters.Elton John wrote the scores for BILLY ELLIOT and THE LION KING, both of which are critically acclaimed Broadway shows. John received the Tony Award for his score to AIDA. Other Broadway credits include the score to LESTAT. Also, John was one of the producers of the Tony nominated play NEXT FALL.
Elton John has sold more than 250 million records over his career making him one of the most successful artists of all time. He has won 5 Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, and a Golden Globe. Just some of his many hits include "Benny and the Jets," "Crocodile Rock," and "Philadelphia Freedom."
