Deadline.com announced that Emmy Award winner Ellen Barkin is in negotiations to join the previously announced Andrew Rannells in the new NBC pilot 'The New Normal.' The comedy is created and produced by GLEE's Ryan Murphy and Allison Adler.
'The New Normal' is described as "a heartwarming comedy about a blended family of a gay couple and the woman who becomes a surrogate to help them start a family."
Barkin was previously seen in The Normal Heart, Short Talks on the Universe, Eden Court, Fool for Love, Extremities, Killings on the Last Line, and Shout Across the River.
Rannells, who recently extended his MORMON contract through February 2013, previously appeared on Broadway in JERSEY BOYS and HAIRSPRAY.
