According to London's Daily Mail, the legendary Elizabeth Taylor--who starred on Broadway in The Little Foxes and Private Lives in addition to many classic films--is in very bad condition.
The paper reports that the 74 year-old Taylor's heart is failing. She is reportedly planning her funeral while confined to her bed, and would like to be buried next to ex-husband Richard Burton, with whom she had two tumultuous yet loving marriages.
"Liz is inching closer to death every day and she knows it. It is not a pretty picture," stated a friend of the star, who is also planning to donate much of her fortune to AIDS research.
Taylor, who is also known for her violet-eyed beauty, starred opposite Burton in the 1983 Broadway revival of
Privates Lives, as well as in the films
Cleopatra, The Comedians, Doctor Faustus and
The Taming of the Shrew. Also on Broadway in
The Little Foxes, she appeared in films such as the movie version of
A Little Night Music, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Butterfield 8 (for which she won an Oscar),
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Suddenly, Last Summer and
Giant, among others.
