Elisa Monte Dance Presents 20 Special Dance Events Starting 2/3

The internationally acclaimed Elisa Monte Dance will host over twenty special dance events starting February 3rd as a part of their upcoming 30th season this March (3/1-6) at The Joyce Theater. From master classes to website launches and video interviews with the artistic team and dancers - all will highlight this landmark period for the company. Most events are open to the public, low-cost and some are free.

The twenty events kick off February 3rd: Master Class at Purchase College Feb 3rd: Associate Artistic Director Tiffany Rea-Fisher will be teaching a master class at SUNY Purchase as part of the 30 Days of Dance initiative.

Master Class at Steps on Broadway Feb 4th: Artistic Director Elisa Monte and Associate Artistic Director Tiffany Rea-Fisher will be teaching a master class at Steps on Broadway as part of the 30 Days of Dance initiative.

Dance Class - Associate Artistic Director Tiffany Rea-Fisher will be teaching classes at Dance New Amsterdam Monday February 14th-Friday February 18th from 10-12:00. Classes are $10 and open to the public.

Elisa Monte 30th Anniversary website launch Feb. 25th: The company will launch a website that includes repertory, pictures and video of the last 30 years including videos on Elisa Monte, Artistic Director; Tiffany Rea Fisher, Associate Artistic Director; and the current company produced, filmed and edited by Executive Director, Gary De Mattei.

Interview with Associate Artistic Director Tiffany Rea-Fisher Feb. 26th: Executive Director Gary De Mattei will sit down with the Associate Artistic Director and discuss her thoughts about getting to this milestone.

Interview with Artistic Director and Founder Elisa Monte Feb. 28th: The day before opening night at the Joyce Elisa Monte will reflect on her journey. You won't want to miss it!

The 30 Anniversary Season for Elisa Monte Dance will take place at The Joyce Theatre (175 Eighth Avenue - at the corner of 19th Street) and will be performed in three programs: Opening Night Gala Program "Tears Rolling": featuring SaRita Allen; "White Dragon": Company with Tiffany Rea-Fisher and guest artists; "Treading": Liz Roxas and guest artist; and "Light Lies": Full Company; Program A will be performed March 2nd, 5th & 6th (matinee) and include: "Light Lies," "For Joy," "Dialogue with Vanishing Languages," and "Shattered" ; Program B will be performed March 3rd, 4th & 6th (evening) and will include: "Tears Rolling," "White Dragon," "Treading," "...the heart...," and "Dialogue with Vanishing Languages." A special Saturday Matinee Family show on March 5th will feature "For Joy," "...the heart...," and "Shattered." The playing schedule is as follows: Tuesday, March 1st at 7PM, Wednesday, March 2nd at 7:30PM; Thursday, March 3rd at 8PM; Friday, March 4th at 8PM; Saturday, March 5th at 2 & 8PM; and Sunday, March 6th at 2 & 7:30PM.
