Theatre icon Elaine Paige, the "Queen of West End Musicals" who has created the roles of Eva Peron in "Evita," Grizabella in "Cats," Florence in "Chess" and Edith Piaf in "Piaf" and had a triumphant debut on Broadway in 1996 as Norma Desmond in "Sunset Boulevard," will sign copies of
her autobiography, entitled* "Memories," on Wednesday, September 22, at the Barnes & Noble Lincoln Triangle store, 1972 Broadway, at West 66th Street. The event will begin at 7:30 PM.
There will be a Q and A with Elaine conducted by theater columnist Peter Filichia.
Elaine will be traveling to Atlantic City on Thursday to get ready for her debut performance at the Borgata Hotel Casino next Saturday, September 25, at 9:30 PM. She will be performing a shorter version of her critically acclaimed one-woman show, "Elaine Paige: 40 Years on Stage," which she toured successfully around the world in 2009.
Elaine is in the final stages of laying down tracks for her new "duets" record album with producer Phil Ramone for Warner Bros Records. Tentatively titled "Elaine and Friends," *the album will include duets of Elaine singing with such internationally renowned recording artists as (in alphabetical order): Paul Anka, John Barrowman, Michael Bolton, Kenny G, Olivia Newton John, Barry Manilow, Johnny Mathis, Billy Ocean, Sinead O'Connor Le Ann Rimes, Jon Secada, Neil Sedaka *and *Dionne Warwick.
The album is scheduled to be released in the UK on November 1, 2010, with a US release early in 2011.
