Eileen Atkins, after suffering from the flu, will begin performances in Doubt tonight. She will join fellow new cast members Ron Eldard and Jena Malone and original cast member Adriane Lenox.

Atkins (The Retreat from Moscow, Indiscretions), who will play Sister Aloysius, was originally set to begin her run on January 10th, but a flu bug that also caught hold of Eldard and Malone caused the delay. The latter play Father Flynn and Sister James, while Lenox continues as Mrs. Muller.

Cherry Jones, Brían F. O'Byrne and Heather Goldenhersh played their final performance on Sunday, January 8.

Doubt is written by John Patrick Shanley, and directed by Doug Hughes. The production was the most honored play of the 2004-2005 season, receiving the 2005 Tony Award for Best Play and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, among a number of others. " Set against the backdrop of a Bronx Catholic school in 1964, Doubt is the story of a strong-minded woman faced with a difficult decision. Should she voice concerns about one of her male colleagues…even if she's not entirely certain of the truth?," state press notes.

Doubt's set design is by John Lee Beatty, costume design is by Catherine Zuber, lighting design is by Pat Collins, and original music and sound design is by David Van Tieghem. Doubt is produced by Carole Shorenstein Hays, MTC Productions Inc. (Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director; Barry Grove, Executive Producer), Roger Berlind and Scott Rudin.

The performance schedule is Tuesday through Saturday at 8:00 PM, with matinees on Wednesday and Saturday at 2:00 PM, and Sunday at 3:00 PM. Tickets are available by calling Telecharge.com at 212: 239-6200 or at the Walter Kerr Theatre box office (219 West 48th Street).
