After a year in which they played 125 shows in 25 different countries on 6 continents, the Easy Star All-Stars are excited to finally be playing at home again. Amidst all of that touring, the New York-based band had not appeared in their hometown since June 2009 when they played to over a thousand people in the rain at Stuyvesant Town.
This time, on Wednesday, JUNE 9, they will be playing at a new venue for them, the hip and elegant HIRO BALLROOM in the famous Maritime Building on 9th Avenue in Chelsea. The band will run through songs from all three of its hit reggae tribute albums, including Easy Star's Lonely Hearts Dub Band, their reworking of the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's, which cracked the Billboard Top 200 twice last year.
The All-Stars will be joined for this show by the award winning Electronica project J.Viewz, with its unique live act ranging from Breakbeat and Nu-Jazz to Electro and Reggae. For more information, visit www.jviewz.com
