TransAmerica presents Hot Feet, produced by Rudy Durand in association with Kalimba Entertainment, Inc. to present the World Premiere of the new dance musical Hot Feet conceived, directed and choreographed by Tony Nominated Maurice Hines, Music and Lyrics by Seven-time Grammy winner and Earth, Wind & Fire founder Maurice White and book by MTV scribe Heru Ptah.
Hot Feet will have its pre-Broadway run at DC's National Theatre beginning March 21, opening Tuesday, March 28 and will run through April 9, 2005. It will begin its Broadway previews on April 18, opening night on Sunday, April 30, 2006 at the Hilton Theatre (213 West 42nd Street).
Hot Feet is an infectious, heart-stopping, new dance musical created by the Tony-nominated Maurice Hines and Earth, Wind & Fire's very own Maurice White. Hot Feet features the music of Earth, Wind & Fire, including such hits as After The Love Is Gone, Boogie Wonderland, Shining Star, and September, in addition to six all-new original songs written by Mr. White for this production, the book was written by MTV scribe Heru Ptah.
Hot Feet is a story about believing in ones dreams and ambitions, paid with self sacrifice and discipline. Exploring the musical underbelly of the back stages of Broadway with the dreamers and dream makers along with the musical odyssey of Earth, Wind & Fire. Hot Feet is told through a beautiful young talented dancer, Kalimba whose life quest is to be a dancer on a Broadway. Her journey takes us through her fears, loves and disappointments. Along her journey she faces many obstacles and there The Temptations of success take over and the price of ambition revealed. To dance with a pair of red shoes embodied by Faustian hands that will determine her fate. In a world were ambition and fate sometimes never meet, Hot Feet is the musical story of fate, love and choice.
